June 07 EtherSometimes i wonder what the powers that be are actually playing at.
How on earth are we supposed to look forward, how can we plan, when the future is so completely apparently randon?
Why are we tossed about on lifes stormy ocean, grappling the rudder as if it matters,
to find the map on which you write your route suddenly ripped to tatters?
Worse, or better, depending on the scenario, you plan for what you expect, to be presented with the unexpected.
As youngsters we make poor choices which we spend wiser years contemplatingt.
Why would somethng that was real in the past not be real today? Assuming your heart was not wrong, then the heart which felt that way then still beats it's message.
Only a fool misses life twice.
May 09 All the gear......... nee idea.....Why would anyone with any degree of ability
Care so little about the production sound
That they lose their skills and fuck around
Why would you care so little
To refuse to touch
The things that really mean so much
How could you waste away
Stay lost in life from yesterday
while those around you move ahead
and wave goodbye and leave you dead.

April 06 New Fan.....A tiny puppy came to stay,
All fluffy, soft and brown,
To take good care of a gently heart,
To be strong when she is down,
She'll grow to love and be loved back,
With care and understanding,
And though not too argumentative,
Most certainly still demanding!
So love that dawg and she'll be there
To take you out for walkies,
but I hope there's room for little me,
For hugs and kisses and talkies....!?

October 05 StrangeIt has been a month today.
Since I turned my back and walked away,
The hardest walk you can believe.
The hardest choice I could concieve.
Sad tonight, strangely lonely,
Unexpected, no-one told me,
Not sure why I feel this way,
Being brave got lost today.
August 30 mmmThe amount of time spent dwelling on a bitter past is directly proportionate to that spent missing out on a better future.
Think not about what may have been, dwell not on what mistakes were made. Instead, think hard about what you have learnt, and whilst putting that into practice, avoid the new mistakes which will inevitably beckon.
Mistakes are inevitable and largely unavoidable consequences of living a full and varied life. Dwelling on them is neither inevitable nor unavoidable, and as we are gifted with the ability to choose, a happy life is simply a matter of refusing to allow mistakes to murder our ability to live, learn, and be positive.
Those that cannot forget a dark past are unlikely to see a bright future
August 24 Grindon BroadwayIt's been a while since we last played The Broadway, and dissapointing to see so few in, but Sunderland were playing away and it's the last two weeks of the kids holidays, so these two facts would have had a serious impact on the numbers.
In any event, second half was really good, crowd enjoyed it, first half was a bit lacklustre, and there are still some "level" problems with The Silver Fox's guitar - foldback problems are all gone bar some wooliness in Fields of Gold - will have a listen to that again..... We really must get the rig into a club to have a re-balance, bit unfair of us to take a new guitarist on and not spend more time mixing levels - it's one thing learning the set, but quite another setting levels, and Dave and I are probably a bit complacent. Rebel Yell was once again superb, though more volume in Foxy's solo could have been useful.
I'll put togeher some thoughts for him, people can't be expected to know what is expected if you don;t expect to tell them!!
Dorman Long next week - we are one of their favorite bands, so that will be a great one. Could possibly go down earlier.... |
